For my wife, on our wedding day. What I Have, I Give to You
I don't promise a life less complicated A union of two who cherish each other's individuality won't be simple I don't promise a settled, comfortable life We don't desire the mundane, we strive for the extraordinary I don't promise wealth or luxury We covet experiences, not possessions
This I do promise You will have happiness and laughter You will be able to trust in my love when you feel vulnerable I will cherish everything that makes me adore you, even as we and our love age I will forgive easily The dreams you chase will become mine also, and I will devote myself to helping you achieve those dreams The adventures you seek, so shall I When hardship interrupts your happiness, I will provide shelter until the sun again lights your path When joy abounds, I will relish it with you
But alas, life is short and there is much to see Come, let's explore Your hand in mine Until the end of time |
