Written
in response to a magazine's request for a poem about baseball, kissing
someone’s hand, Guatemala, eating sushi, vomiting sushi, Robert Frost
shaking hands with Shakespeare, Poetry as Painting and Painting. A Response to a Call for Themed Poetry
I
was watching a baseball game when I saw it
A
man kissing someone’s hand
It
reminded me of that time in Guatemala
That
time when I was eating sushi
Just
had I finished my meal, when I saw a man kissing the hand of a bearded lady
That
was my first time vomiting sushi
My
mind came back from Central America and there, on my front porch, was a
vision
It
was Robert Frost shaking hands with Shakespeare
Remember
Robert Frost?
He
wrote a book called ‘Poetry as Painting’
Or
maybe it was just ‘Painting’
Or
maybe I’m mistaken
My
dog barked and the vision was no more
I
put my hand to my heart and swore Hard alcohol, nevermore |
Fiction Patiently waiting for publiction. Poetry
